House SystemAt Lanna, each student and faculty member is placed into one of four groups (or houses). Each house includes students from all year groups. In the fall, students elect House Captains. A candidate for
House Captain must be in good academic standing and must ask two teachers to provide written recommendations. Lanna’s house system promotes a sense of identity and positive school spirit, provides a structure for cooperation across the years, and facilitates intramural competition of all kinds. The four houses are Red, Blue, Green and Yellow. House meetings and house activities are scheduled throughout the year and have included swim galas, inter-house athletics, and quiz competitions. Awards, in the form of merits, are given for good work and effort. Awards earn house points which are accumulated over the year. The house trophy is awarded to the winning house at the awards assembly held in June. Students are required to buy at least two house T-shirts. The shirts are to be worn during physical education lessons and house events. Parents are honorary members of a child’s house. Parents are invited to attend all House events.. |
