We are delighted to welcome you to the Admissions and Registration process at Lanna International School Thailand (LIST).
LIST has been providing a British-style education in Chiang Mai since 1993 and now has well established and successful IGCSE, A Level and SAT programmes in place, as well as gaining outstanding Cambridge Primary programme results in recent years.
For further information on the many educational and enrichment opportunities available at LIST please explore other areas of this website, and our Facebook page. You don’t have to join Facebook to view our page – simply click here.
Within the LIST admissions process you will deal directly with either Mr Hugh Williams (Primary Principal) or Mr Tim Creber (Marketing and Admissions) or Kevin Pugh (Secondary Principal). Please feel free to contact us any time with questions you may have about what we offer, or to arrange a tour of our school. E-mail us at email@example.com and the appropriate person will get back to you.

At LIST, we encourage children to develop their reading, writing, numeracy, social and communication skills from an early age. This streamlines their successful transition into our Primary Programmes.
Parents considering having their child join our school community are encouraged to apply as early as possible, as we do have waiting lists in many year groups.

LIST aims as much as possible to be an inclusive community. All applicants are, however, required to undertake English language and possibly other placement assessments as part of the admissions process. This helps us ensure suitability for our programmes and correct placement.
Parents are responsible for requesting and submitting official documentation, including transcripts and report cards from their child’s previous school(s). If previous school records are submitted in a language other than English, they should be accompanied by an English translation.
Admission and placement of students is determined by the Head of School in consultation with the appropriate Principal and the applicants family. Factors influencing placement include age, previous school records, placement test results and the students’ abilities and needs.
English is the main language of instruction at LIST. Although admission is open to students of any nationality, full participation in the school’s instructional programmes requires reasonable proficiency in the English language. We do, however, aim to meet a range of needs and abilities and provide a number of additional language support options for students learning English as an additional language.
We will be very happy to discuss arrangements that we can make for your child. We are a small school community and every effort will be made to provide a personalised programme suited to your child’s current needs.
Intensive English Language Development Programme
Students with very low level English language skills may be accepted initially into our very successful intensive language programme rather than directly into mainstream classes. This is very much focused on developing language skills to a point where students can enter mainstream classes, although this cannot always be guaranteed to be at LIST when most classes are already full.
