The Advisory Board was established in March 2000 with the intention of improving the school's connections to the parents and the wider educational community. In its early years it met somewhat infrequently and its function was very much advisory in nature. Since August 2003 it has met on a much more regular basis, taken on more responsibilities and in some respects it functions as a school board.
The owners of Lanna have never interfered with school policy and have left all matters educational up to the school's administration. One weakness of this arrangement has always been that the policy tended to shift with each current Head of School resulting in a lack of continuity in the school's policies and direction. With its expanded role, the Advisory Board is now in a position to help assure continuity in curriculum and in planning for the school's future.
The Advisory Board welcomes input from parents. |
