| Pawan Deep wins 2007 EARCOS Global Citizenship Award |
| Pawan Deep Sethi (Bunny) is Lanna’s winner of the 2007 EARCOS Global Citizen Award. EARCOS (East Asia Regional Council of Overseas Schools), representing over 100 schools in East Asia, judges students on concern for others; open-mindedness; the ability to relate to and work with people of all ages; occupations and nationalities; and personal commitment to community improvement and projects to “make the world a better place.” Winning this award is a wonderful accomplishment for Bunny, who was the winner of the Deelman Award last year as a tenth grader. This year he was a driving force on the Student Council, was Green House (“Geckos”) Captain, manager of the Merit Point system, and winner of the High School Football Award.

| Jenni Steel wins the Deelman Award for Citizenship |

Jennifer R. Steel is this year’s recipient of the Deelman Award for Citizenship, given to the student who has best demonstrated leadership within the school community; shown initiative; been actively involved in school and encouraged school spirit; had a positive attitude to academic work; and demonstrated awareness and sensitivity of different cultures and levels of ability. Jenni has proved herself to be a quiet and effective leader—not always the one on stage directing the cheering, but the one working unceasingly in the background on planning and organisation. As Vice-President of the Student Council and an active member of Lanna Community Service, she has devoted hours to our school and the greater community, and we are grateful to her and very proud.

| Teak Collects Award for the best overall score in Thailand for IGCSE Combined Science |

In a truly satisfying moment for Lanna International School, Pimprapha Kanman (Teak) was among 24 students given an award in recognition for their outstanding IGCSE achievements. Teak received the best overall score in Thailand for IGCSE Combined Science, and received her award at a special ceremony at Harrow International School, Bangkok.
The award was presented by The Principal Advisor to the CEO of the University of Cambridge International Examinations Office, Ms Christine Cayley. Amongst the other winners were students from Harrow International School, Shrewsbury International School, and The Regents School, Bangkok.
“I admit that at first, I was quite nervous about the whole thing – travelling to Bangkok to go to a huge school where people were all dressed in suits and ties. However, I am really honoured to have had the opportunity to attend such a distinguished ceremony as this.” said Teak about her experience. From us all here at Lanna International School, congratulations Teak – we are so proud!
