| LIST’s PTO BBQ Kicks Off Another School Year |
Lanna's wonderfully active Parent teacher Organisation (PTO) hosted its beginning of the year BBQ event on Friday, September 7th. A large crowd of hundreds of students, parents, teachers, staff and guests enjoyed the festivities. A highlight of the event was the wide variety of international foods kindly prepared by parents and made available for all to try. The delicious food was so popular that little was left for the judge to give awards to in the tasting competition!
The student council held games and fundraised for school activities. Informal sports play was popular with many of the students, and bingo games were avidly participated in, with lots of fun prizes to be won. There was an educational display of some of the latest computer technology which drew the attention of many. Karaoke and entertainment rounded off an exciting evening of food, fun and fellowship.
LIST's PTO prides itself on creating a warm, family oriented atmosphere for the school community and certainly outdid itself with its first major event. Volunteer Chair of the PTO, Peter Train, stated that he owed much of the event’s success to the enthusiastic support of the parents and families. He sends his thanks and appreciation to the many volunteers who made it all happen. The PTO encourages all to attend its next major event which is the popular bowling tournament in November.
