Lanna's extensive sports programs support student connectedness by developing a sense of community among the players, their fans, and Lanna's parents and families. Our sports programs also connect our students with the communities of other international schools in the Chiang Mai and Bangkok areas. Sports include athletics, badminton, basketball, football, futsall, swimming and volleyball, at various times throughout the year.
The 2006/2007 U11 girl’s basketball team and their coach, Ms Kirsten, deserve a special mention for completing a season undefeated. Well done girls. They enjoyed a very successful basketball season this year. They began and ended their season with excellent games in which they trampled the other teams. Unfortunately, they were not able to go on and show their excellent playing ability in the Under 11 tournament as it was cancelled due to poor air quality. Keep up the good work girls, and hopefully we can continue the success next year! |
Pctured above are the team members:
Kwan, Lina, Lita, Leah, Yoo Min Hwa, Hanna, Michelle, Josie, Natascha, Yumika, and Mi Lai. |

The 2007/2008 year of sports has started well with volleyball running through September and October. There is once again a full calendar of matches between Lanna and Chiang Mai's other International Schools. The volleyball competition culminates in tournaments held on the 8th and 9th of October. See the school Sports calendar for details of upcoming events.
Lots of staff at Lanna get involved with coaching sports after school and deserve thanks from the rest of us for their efforts. The students also put in a lot of time and effort into training so that they can achieve to their best of their abilities. Well done to them too, and good luck!! |
