This year the Table Tennis Tournament was again held at Lanna. Despite the crowded facilities, we were able to host a record-breaking 100 entrants in this year’s tournament. It was an exciting and long day for the players and coaches, but for Lanna it held a happy ending.

The boys’ under 15 winner was Maurice. He played brilliantly all day and deserved the final championship. The boys’ under 20 runner-up was Danny (year 13). Danny played well all day, but unfortunately lost in close matches to CMIS. The boys’ doubles winners and runners up both came from Lanna. The winners were Teddy and Danny (both year 13) and the runners up were brothers Maurice and Micki. Lanna had only one female entrant, Natascha. She played her best, but was up against stellar competition from the other international schools.

Special thanks go to Thomas Van Nes for running the tournament. Ms. Kirsten couldn’t have done it without him. Also thanks to Mr. Kyle and Mr. Jimmy for coaching and helping with all the extra work on tournament day. Huge thank you’s go out to the Lanna staff for getting the extra tables, setting up for tournament day, and then cleaning up afterwards.
