Step 3: Interview and Assessment
LANNA is a selective school. Our assessment process and requirements will vary depending on the age of the applicant. For each area, there will always be an interview in-person or online (only if necessary).
Early Years: Children learn best through exploration, so students are evaluated during a play-based observation. In addition, we will interview the parents/caregivers of the applicant. This way we gain valuable insights into a child’s cognitive abilities, social skills, and overall development
Year 1 – 2: Primarily face-to-face, the interview and assessment typically take 30 minutes. Due to the young age of the applicants, we base our enrolment decisions on their most recent school reports and a number of internal criteria.
Year 3 – The process lasts 2 hours including an essay writing task, a cognitive abilities test, and an interview with a member of our academic team.
Year 4 and above: The assessment process lasts approximately 3 hours. It includes an essay writing task, a reading comprehension test, a cognitive abilities test, and an interview with a member of our academic team.
Step 4: Decision and Enrolment
A decision on acceptance and placement will be based on many factors including school reports and the entrance test. An offer will be given personally or in writing and once accepted our admissions office will check all supporting documents. Then, an invoice for the enrolment fees will be issued by LANNA’s accounts department. Please note we will contact your previous school to check for any outstanding financial issues. Students may be placed on a waitlist if seats are limited.

Welcome to Lanna International School! One of the first steps will be to buy a school uniform and book any daily transport needed before you start – We’ll be here to make sure you have what you need to enjoy a top quality British education.
All students must meet the appropriate age by September 1st.
LANNA operates on a Northern Hemisphere calendar, with the academic year commencing in August. Our school year comprises two terms: August to December and January to June. Grade placement is based on previous school experience and the student’s age. The school reserves the right to place each student in the grade level it determines most appropriate for his/her school experience.
