Mr Nathan first came to Thailand as a volunteer teacher, an experience that sparked his passion for education. He spent several years teaching at Chiang Mai University while earning his US teaching credentials before joining LANNA, initially teaching A Level Business and IGCSE Enterprise before transitioning into university guidance counselling.

As Head of Higher Education & Careers, he guides students in exploring future pathways, from university applications to career planning. He is also the LQ Coordinator, supporting students both academically and beyond the classroom.

After many years at LANNA, Mr Nathan continues to value the strong sense of community among students and colleagues. He is proud to be part of a school that inspires curiosity, ambition, and personal growth.

Originally from London, Mr David brings nearly two decades of experience in education across Asia, spanning school leadership, university lecturing and teaching across IGCSE, A Level and IB programmes. He has also published a university textbook with Routledge and is currently working towards his Doctor of Education.

“My family and I are excited to make Chiang Mai our new home. Outside the classroom, I enjoy photography, cycling, windsurfing, rock climbing and baking bread, and I’m looking forward to becoming part of the LANNA community.”

Mr James began his teaching journey in 2019 when he decided to transition out of being a project manager in the UK university sector. After completing the PGCE, he moved to Thailand, where he worked at an international school in Bangkok for five years.

After five years of living in Bangkok, Mr James decided he wanted a quieter life and applied to Lanna International to enable a move to Chiang Mai. Originally from Bristol, UK (one of England’s cultural and artistic centres), Chiang Mai feels very much like home to him.

As a teacher, Mr. James strongly believes in the power of language and the importance of being mindful of our words. He views learning the fundamentals of grammar as essential in providing students with the tools they need to communicate in different contexts. He sees literature as a gateway into the minds of other people, where it can not only prepare us for experiences we are yet to have but help us know that we are not alone in experiences we thought were unique to ourselves.

LLB Degree in Law (Hons), Post Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice, Post Graduate Certificate in Professional Teaching, MA TESOL & Applied Linguistics, with teaching certification from The Teacher’s Council of Thailand.

Ms Claire enables students to challenge themselves, encourages them to read widely and appreciate literature, and to have the confidence to play with the English language. Her goals are to help students think deeply about the materials they are engaging with and enable them to make critical connections between the classroom and the real world.

Mr Fred has an academic background in philosophy and studied in the UK. He has spent the last four years working at a leading British international school in Bangkok.

Earlier in his career he worked in communications for a variety of NGOs and campaign groups in the UK and Africa.

Ms Ella holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in English Literature from the University of Brighton, graduating with Second Class Honours in 2018. She believes that teaching English is about far more than language and literature—it is about building confidence, encouraging curiosity, and helping young people feel heard and understood.

“I am passionate about creating a classroom culture where students feel safe to take risks, think critically, and develop their own voice. I look forward to building meaningful relationships with students and colleagues, and inspiring a genuine enjoyment of reading, writing, and learning at LANNA.”

Originally from Louth, Ireland, Mr Conor completed his degree in Dublin before teaching English in both his hometown and the capital. His passion for travel and cultural experiences has taken him across Europe and even to Vancouver, where he lived and worked in 2019.

Having long aspired to teach in Asia, he is excited to be part of the LANNA community, where he brings his enthusiasm for language and learning into the classroom. He looks forward to inspiring students and helping them develop their confidence in English.

Ms Karen began her teaching journey in Thailand in 2003 as a volunteer at a small high school for underprivileged children. That experience sparked a lifelong passion for education, leading her to teach in Thai government schools, bilingual programmes, and international schools in Chachoengsao and Chiang Mai.

Since joining LANNA in 2021, she has been dedicated to supporting multilingual learners in the Secondary AEP programme. She is particularly passionate about Special Educational Needs (SEN) and enjoys discovering new ways to help students thrive. With a strong belief that confidence grows through encouragement and the right strategies, she works to ensure every student finds success. Outside the classroom, she enjoys cooking, baking, and making memories with her two children.

B.S. in Middle Childhood Education, specialising in Mathematics and Language Arts instruction. Bowling Green State University

Originally from Ohio, USA, Ms Katelynn has been teaching in Chiang Mai since 2015. She holds a B.S. in Middle Childhood Education from Bowling Green State University, specialising in Mathematics and Language Arts instruction.

Her teaching philosophy centres on creating an engaging and challenging environment where students are motivated to think critically and solve problems. She looks forward to being part of each student’s learning journey at LANNA.

Mr Simran has a background in Mechatronics Engineering, and has prior experience teaching Maths and Science in Secondary.

“I’m particularly interested in STEAM and the journey from mind to manufacture. I enjoy seeing students develop curiosity and enthusiasm through hands-on learning, and I’m looking forward to helping them turn their ideas into reality.”

Mr Ethan started his career in aerospace engineering before moving into alternative energy and then into teaching.

For the past three years, he has been teaching Secondary KS3 Science, Physics and Robotics at an international school in Kuala Lumpur.

With over 30 years of experience teaching Chemistry and Science across IGCSE, A Level, IB, AP, and Queensland Senior Chemistry, Mr Graham has worked in the UK, Australia, Italy, Qatar, the UAE, China, and Bangkok before joining LANNA. Now in his second year in Chiang Mai, he brings a wealth of expertise to the classroom. Beyond teaching, he has a strong interest in military history and international politics.

MEng Aerospace Engineering (Masters) – Queen’s University Belfast; Post Graduate Certificate of Education (Secondary PGCE) – Ulster University

Originally from Northern Ireland, Mr Daniel is both a qualified engineer and teacher with eight years of experience teaching STEM subjects in the UK, Vietnam, and Thailand. His diverse background allows him to bring a practical, hands-on approach to science and engineering education.

Having visited Chiang Mai several times, he is excited to now call it home. Outside of teaching, Mr Daniel enjoys playing golf, riding motorbikes, learning Muay Thai, reading, and spending time with his dog—who will be joining him in Chiang Mai. He looks forward to being part of the LANNA community and sharing his passion for STEM with students.

Master 2 in French as a Foreign Language (FLE), Paris Sorbonne Nouvelle University (in progress), certified examiner for French language diplomas Delf-Dalf, Ph.D in Archaeology, Paris Nanterre University

Upon arriving in Asia to study Chinese Archaeology, Ms Erika discovered a deep passion for teaching and sharing the French language, which led her to pursue a full-time career in education.

With experience teaching in China, Cambodia, and Thailand, Ms Erika has worked in a variety of educational settings, including universities, the Francophone University Agency (AUF), and the Alliance Française, where she taught children. She has also conducted interviews for Chinese students as part of their pre-visa process at CampusFrance.

Mr Dilip is an experienced educator specialising in Computer Science and ICT across IGCSE, AS and A Level programmes. He has over 20 years of teaching experience across India, Qatar, and the Maldives.

“I am passionate about student-centred learning, technology integration, and helping learners develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills for the future.”

Mr Philip began his journey in Drama in 2013 and studied Drama at college and university. Since 2020, he has taught internationally. He looks forward to further developing the Arts at LANNA, drawing on his experience in professional acting, directing, and educational industries.

“I am excited to create engaging productions, meaningful lessons alongside students, and to contribute to the vibrant LANNA community.”

Mr David studied Economics and Management and Development Economics. He has taught Business and Economics internationally since 2018, including in South Africa and Thailand, across a range of Key Stages.

“I am passionate about lifelong learning and enjoy helping students develop both academic confidence and real-world understanding.”

As a Humanities Teacher at LANNA, Mr Kevin is proud to be part of a dedicated team of experienced international educators. He is committed to supporting a positive learning experience while helping to preserve what makes LANNA so special—a friendly, supportive, and welcoming school environment.

LANNA’s engaged and dynamic student body creates a true community of learners, and Mr Kevin values the meaningful connections between students, teachers, and the wider school community.

A strong advocate for student leadership, Mr Kevin believes in encouraging students to take initiative, share their ideas, and play an active role in their school experience. He is continually inspired by the creativity, empathy, and enthusiasm that students bring to school life.

For Mr Kevin, every day is a great day when he sees happy, engaged students learning alongside passionate educators who take risks, think creatively, and embrace the joy of learning together.

Mr Alex is an enthusiastic History and Humanities teacher with a deep passion for understanding how the past shapes the world we live in today.

He has experience beyond LANNA of teaching British curriculum IGCSEs and A Levels.  He has taught in New Zealand’s most prestigious schools, including the country’s only international school group, where he developed engaging and inquiry-based learning experiences for his students.

He aims to make every lesson a journey of discovery, inspiring students to leave the classroom as excited about History and Humanities as he is.

Beyond the classroom, Mr Alex is passionate about travel, historical immersion, hiking, and Formula 1.
