Lanna International School recruits qualified teachers with international experience, as well as experienced teachers who wish to leave their home country to begin a career in international education.

We are seeking teachers who can help us to attain the highest educational standards whilst maintaining our friendly and caring atmosphere: something that all of us at Lanna value and cherish. You will join a supportive, energetic and enthusiastic team of teachers who are determined to make high achievement and enjoyment of school life a reality for all of our children.

A few of our current teachers have shared their own perspectives of life in Chiang Mai and what it is like to teach at Lanna. Hopefully, they can give you some insight in to what it might mean to be part of the Lanna community. Click here to read what they have to say.

Qualification Requirements:

Applicants for teaching roles must hold, at minimum, a Bachelor’s degree and full valid teaching certification from their home country e.g. PGCE or B.Ed (TEFL/TESOL/CELTA only candidates will not be considered for employment). Please note that the degree must be directly related to the post that you are applying for. A strong preference is given to candidates who have shown a pattern of involvement in extra-curricular activities. Overseas teaching experience is preferred, but not required.

Student Safeguarding:

At Lanna, we are committed to student safeguarding. All applicants are required to provide accurate, detailed and verifiable information about their employment history, including any aspects of their past or profile that could affect our reputation or the well-being of our community. All successful candidates are also expected to understand and adhere to Lanna’s code of professional conduct (see links below).

Application Procedure for Teaching Positions:

Interested applicants should apply to [email protected].  Please include a 2 page CV and a letter of application. Two referees are required, one of whom should be your current Head of School.

The Lanna international teacher package includes:

  • Premium medical insurance coverage.
  • Free education for two of your children (“yours” by birth or legally adopted), and half fees thereafter.
  • Return flight to country of origin upon contract renewal. Provided annually, from the end of the second year of service (or a cash bonus alternative).
  • Free lunch each day.
  • The school assists with relevant immigration, visa and Thai teacher license issues on your behalf, and pays the appropriate fees.
  • Regular opportunities for funded Professional Development, both in Thailand and beyond (it is very much encouraged).
  • Opportunities to contribute to the development of the school in a meaningful way through membership of committees and frequent consultation on important school issues. This is not a “top down” school; your opinions are considered, valued, and indeed expected.

Leadership Vacancies
Secondary Vacancies

Secondary STEAM Teacher & Whole School Coordinator

For the coming academic year, beginning August 2021, we are in need of a fully qualified, experienced, and dedicated STEAM leader to join our highly successful, experienced and hard-working teaching team. The successful candidate will initially be delivering our STEAM programme at Key Stage 3 level (currently a half timetable teaching load), whilst also providing appropriate guidance, training, support and inspiration to support the delivery of STEAM by classroom teachers throughout the school, and so develop the capacity of the whole-school STEAM programme (Early Years to Y13)

The successful candidate will need to have high level IT skills and be self motivated and driven to develop this exciting new role. This is an area of major investment throughout the school and an area that the school wishes to see grow and become an area of excellence that the school is recognised for.

We are a one-to-one laptop school at the Secondary level and have also recently had major investments in laptops and tablets for younger students – IT access is excellent throughout. There has also been major investment in robotics Lego and, more recently, in Vex robotics, with a view to entering national robotics competitions. For the right initiatives, funding support will be available in the coming years to allow STEAM to grow and develop at LANNA.

The school promotes high standards in all areas, not just academics. As such, you will be expected to take a full and active role in the life of the school. See the Co-curricular section of our website for details of some of the many school activities that take place, and that you would be expected to volunteer to be involved with in some ways. As the STEAM leader you would be expected to make a large commitment in this area.

We are seeking an individual who can develop this programme and help us to attain the highest educational standards, whilst also being part of helping us maintain our friendly and caring atmosphere: something that all of us at LANNA value and cherish. You will join a supportive, energetic and enthusiastic team of teachers who are determined to make high achievement and enjoyment of school life a reality for all of our children. A strong preference is given to candidates who have shown a pattern of involvement in extra-curricular activities. Overseas teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
